This is a summary of my thoughts and what I think might help resolve the problem with notifications in LinkedIn's Publishing Platform.
I don't think LinkedIn should necessarily adopt a publishing policy, but I do think LinkedIn should take the lead and create a Best Practices white sheet.
One of the challenges/concerns I read over and over was the frequency of the article posts. The LIPP is NOT Facebook!
The one mistake LinkedIn may have made with this new publishing platform (a.k.a. LIPP) was to automatically subscribe all 1st connections to each other's posts.
Though I am flattered by the invitation, I have to ask (and sometimes out loud!), "Why does this person want to connect with me?" I am particularly curious if I just met you in person or online!
